Installation of SKANDINAVIA [FIXERA] Wood Slat Room Dividers
SKANDINAVIA Slat Room Dividers are very easy to install using our unique self-aligning installation system.
First step is to measure and mark the center point of the brackets on the ceiling and floor. The centerpoints should be exactly aligned. You can use either of the methods shown in Finding Plum Points achieve this.
Determine the distance of the centerpoints based on your application and your taste.
Installation Steps:
- Measure and mark the centerpoints of slats either on the floor or the ceiling using any of the two methods.
- We usually install one slat each 5". The result is slats with 3" spacing. You can install one slat every 4" that will result in 2" spacing between slats.
- Mark the corresponding point on the other surface (ceiling or floor).
- Attache the bottom bracket to the bottom of the slats by screws provided.
- Cut the slat (including the slat’s bottom bracket) to exact distance of ceiling and floor. Note that this distance could very for slats if the ceiling and floor are not completely horizontal
- Install the ceiling brackets and floor brackets by screwing them in place.
- Dry-install the slats to make sure that everything is aligned and looks good. Install the slat by first sliding the top part into the ceiling bracket and then latching the bottom of the slat onto the floor bracket.
Remove the slats, glue and install each slat individually:
- Apply PL Premium construction glue under and around the ceiling bracket
- Apply PL Premium construction glue under and on the front/curved side of the floor bracket.
- Install the slat as described before
Make any adjustments to the angle the slats are installed before the glue is cured. You can have the slats in any angle that you like.
