How to Calculate Required Number of Slats
- Determine the width of the divider you want to build.
- Determine the distance of the centerpoints of the slats. See below for how to determine the the distance of the centerpoints of the slats for FIXERA and ROTERA systems.
- Number of Slats = Divider width / distance of centerpoints.
Determing the Centerpoint Distance of FIXERA
The distance of the centerpoints of slats for FIXERA system can be calculated as the thickness of slats (2") plus the spacing that you would like to have between the slats.
Determing the Centerpoint Distance of ROTERA
The distance of the centerpoints of slats for ROTERA system depends on if you wish to have the overlapping or flat look when the slats are in CLOSED position.
Here we show these two pattern and the distance of centerpoints required for 4" and 5" ROTERA slats.
ROTERA - Overlapping pattern for 4" wide slats.
Centerpoint distance: 4"
Spacing in open position: 2"
Spacing in closed position: NONE - Overlapping
ROTERA - Flat Closed pattern for 4" wide slats.
Centerpoint distance: 4 1/2"
Spacing in open position: 2 1/2"
Spacing in closed position: 1/2"
ROTERA - Overlapping pattern for 5" wide slats.
Centerpoint distance: 5"
Spacing in open position: 3"
Spacing in closed position: NONE - Overlapping
ROTERA - Flat Closed pattern for 5" wide slats.
Centerpoint distance: 5 1/2"
Spacing in open position: 3 1/2"
Spacing in closed position: 1/2"
